To check your oil levels, park the car on a level road just after running the engine, ensuring that the engine is now off. Pull out the dipstick in the engine bay and wipe it with tissue until the tip is clean. Insert the dipstick back into the tube and pull out again. The dipstick should have oil between the two lines. If the oil is low, you will need to top it up.
